Vintage inspired card
Today I am sharing the second card that we made at our Feb stamp club meeting. The reason I chose teach this card at the same time as the Faux silk technique, is because you actually screw up one of the main panels on this card (as you do with the tissue paper in the faux silk technique) to give it a heap of texture. Here is the card;
My original inspiration for this card came from a tutorial I recently purchased from Class in A Flash. I have used the basic ideas from the tutorial and colour scheme to come up with my card. The colour scheme is So Saffrom, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Chocolate Chip, Pale Plum and Very Vanilla. The card contains a heap of distressing and uses the Friendly words stampin around wheel, the Friends 24-7 stamp set and Vintage Labels (a current Sale-A-Bration stamp set).
I will briefly explain what I did for the Perfect Plum layer. First the perfect plum cardstock was rolled with the Friendly Words roller in Elegant Eggplant ink. Next, the edges were distressed with a distressing tool, followed by totally screwing up the entire piece of cardstock (which stressed out some of the stamp club girls). Finally Chocolate Chip ink was sponged over the entire piece, which was then attached to the So Saffron base card. I hope that makes sense. I have taken a picture on an angle, to capture some of the texture on the card;
I am really happy with how this card turned out. It is very different to something I would normally do, but I really love it. See you soon!

I love this card and it is so much nicer IRL as I am lucky enough to have it for my birthday. Thank you so much Nicki. Such a beautiful card.
